sharing pics of my seed bead dolls
I posted recently about wanting help recreating a seed bead indian doll from my childhood. I never did find the exact directions, but did find some for a hula doll. I made a few of those and then did pretty well with my own indian, but had trouble with the legs. I think I figured it out after much trial and error, so the large indian in the picture needs to be finished. You would not believe how many hours over days and days and days I searched for a pattern for the indian doll and found NONE ANYWHERE. I know these used to be popular, so I bought I would have no trouble at all finding something. Oh well.
I then used some printable peyote graph paper to design my own Raggedy Ann doll, another childhood love of mine. I had no experience with increasing or decreasing, so I just winged it as I went along as far as the bottom of her dress. I love how her hair came out, but you wouldn't believe how many red bead strands I put in there in that tiny head! lol The small indian in the picture is the one I have had since I was a child. I had a girl indian too, but sadly, don't know where she went.
I'm so glad I found this forum and hope to share more work in the future. Thanks to those that tried to help me out ;)

Love it, you did a really good job and got creative too. I got one as a gift from my mother in law a couple weeks ago and she said her Mom made it long time ago. I love it, I want to make some but have no idea where to start, lol.

I too have been looking for the seed bead indian doll pattern. I had one and it wore out from wearing so much as a child, and my older sister had bought it for me. I recently lost her to cancer...was hoping to find a pattern so I could recreate one to pass on to my grandchildren. Thank you for sharing your recreation as it has inspired me to work on it even more.
